ASUU strike: 'No work, no compensation' just bone of conflict - Adamu asserts

Minister of Education, Adamu, has said the main issue yet to be settled with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the association's waiting strike is the issue of the law on "No work, No compensation."

Adamu unveiled this to journalists on Tuesday at a gathering with Pro-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of Federal Universities at the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja.

"In all honesty with every one of the associations, particularly with ASUU, one significant issue over which Government and the Unions couldn't arrive at genial understanding was the issue of the law on "No work, No compensation." In the soul of genuineness, the Government clarified that it wouldn't violate the law," he said.

He offered thanks to every one of the Unions that have made the penance of grasping the place of Government with regards to this issue.

ASUU has been engaged in a go head to head with the Federal Government for more than a half year, prompting the total conclusion of state funded colleges in Nigeria.
